Who we are

Course Platform Picks ("we", "us", "the site") publishes research-based comparisons of online course and community platforms at course-platform-picks.com. We are an independent publisher, not affiliated with or owned by any of the platforms we cover. For any privacy question, reach us via the contact page.

What we collect

We do not ask you to create an account, and we do not run a newsletter or contact form that stores your details on our servers. The data we do handle is limited to:

• Anonymous analytics. We use Google Analytics (GA4) to see aggregate, de-identified information such as page views, approximate region, device type and referring source. This helps us decide what to write next.
• Standard server logs. Like most websites, our host may record IP addresses and browser user-agents for security and performance. These are not used to personally identify you.
• Messages you send us. If you email us via the contact page, we keep that message only as long as needed to reply.

Cookies and analytics

Google Analytics sets cookies to measure usage anonymously and in aggregate. We do not use these cookies to build advertising profiles, and we do not display third-party display ads on this site. When you click an affiliate link to an external platform, that platform may set its own cookie to attribute the referral — this is how affiliate commissions are tracked. You can clear or block cookies in your browser at any time; the site will still work.

Affiliate links

Some outbound links on this site are affiliate links. If you sign up or buy through one, the platform may pay us a commission at no extra cost to you. This is our main way of funding the work. It does not change our assessments: we research and summarise publicly available pricing and features, and we have not hands-on-tested every platform. Third-party services

We rely on a small number of third parties whose own privacy policies apply: Google Analytics for measurement, our web host/CDN for serving pages, and affiliate networks (such as the in-house programmes of the platforms we recommend) for referral tracking. We do not control and are not responsible for the privacy practices of external sites you visit after leaving ours.

Your choices and rights

You can opt out of Google Analytics using Google's browser add-on, block cookies in your browser, or use private/incognito browsing. Depending on where you live (for example under GDPR or CCPA), you may have rights to access or delete personal data we hold about you. Because we hold very little personal data, this usually amounts to any email correspondence you have sent us — contact us to request its deletion.

Children

This site is intended for adults building and selling online courses. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the site evolves or as our tools change. The "last updated" date above reflects the latest revision. Material changes will be reflected here rather than notified individually, since we do not hold a mailing list.
